In an effort to include Neurology in the health reform bill being negotiated between the US House and Senate, US Reps. Betty McCollum (D-MN) and Ed Perlmutter (D-CO) sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). The letter specifically asks that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) calculate the cost of adding neurology to the primary care incentive section of the bill. Having this cost data will allow congressional negotiators to determine a final cost of the health bill and will hopefully lead to the inclusion of Neurology.

Similar efforts on neurology's behalf are being made on the Senate side of Capitol Hill by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), which were recently described in an online article at MinnPost.com.
