The Academy's website, AAN.com, is seeking candidates for Associate Editor for Education, a position that will be open as of January 1, 2010. As a leader in developing content for AAN.com, the Associate Editor for Education provides guidance, expertise, and vision for the Education section on the website. Among other duties, the Associate Editor is responsible for actively recruiting, screening, and prioritizing content relevant to neurologic education; soliciting and overseeing the publication of original web articles on AAN.com or other Academy websites; attending weekly Editorial Board meetings; and serving as Chair for monthly Education section Editorial Board meetings, creating written action items and reviewing minutes.
Eligible candidates must be board-certified neurologists and AAN members; Fellow status is preferred. Previous experience on editorial boards of scientific, educational, or medical journals, and with AAN committees, is also required. Candidates must possess an in-depth knowledge of web technology and demonstrate how they would apply that knowledge to this position. Clinical practice and research experience is desirable.
The successful applicant will serve a two-year term, with the option to renew for an additional year.
