The AAN Board of Directors will submit proposed bylaw amendments to the AAN membership during the annual Business Meeting on May 1, 2007. The Business Meeting will be held at 11:15 a.m. (EDT) on the second level of the auditorium at the Hynes Convention Center, Boston, MA.

The Board of Directors recommends that members approve the establishment of a companion nonprofit corporation, The American Academy of Neurology Professional Association, which in turn could establish a political action committee (PAC). Nearly all major national medical associations have a PAC, and the Board believes this could provide an effective tool to advance our advocacy efforts on behalf of neurology and patients with neurological disorders.

The Board of Directors also recommends that members amend Article II, Section 6, of the Bylaws, which governs Junior Members.
