October 3, 2012 is the final day for eligible professionals to being their 90-day reporting period for 2012 for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program. Those who successfully report can earn an incentive payment of up to $18,000 in 2012 and total up to $44,000 over a five-year period.

Incentive amounts will begin decreasing but are still available for eligible professionals who begin participation in 2013 and 2014.
Participating neurologists must implement and demonstrate meaningful use through certified EHR technology, as defined by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
