Neurology Takes Big Step Forward on Capitol Hill: Contact Your Senators to Help Ensure Success

The AAN has been successful in getting legislation introduced that will provide a 10-percent Medicare payment bonus that many neurologists would be qualified to receive. The Academy is asking all US members to contact their senators and ask them to co-sponsor this neurology bill.
This comes after our advocacy efforts led Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Susan Collins (R-ME) to introduce S.597, which will add neurology to the list of physicians eligible for the primary care incentive in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This has been a top priority of the Academy since neurology’s omission from the health care reform bill.
