Workshops introducing participants to the basic pharmacology of botulinum toxin and its treatment techniques for dystonia and spasticity in both adults and children are scheduled for summer and fall of 2007. The workshops will feature:
Upon completion, participants should be able to describe the injection technique for treatment of cranial dystonia, cervical dystonia, limb dystonia, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity; describe the typical dosages used for each disorder with each of the different types of botulinum toxin; and describe the onset, duration of effect, and potential side effects for each type of botulinum toxin.
