Academy to Facilitate Advocacy Workshop at World Congress of Neurology

The AAN Professional Association—along with the World Federation of Neurology—will facilitate an Advocacy Workshop during the 19th World Congress of Neurology in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Workshop will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2009. Attendees will gain the knowledge and tools needed to be effective advocates for their patients and the profession. Topics will include:

• What is advocacy?
• Why is advocacy important?
• Why should you be involved in advocacy as a physician?
• How can advocacy successes best be achieved?
• What resources are there to help?
• Advocacy Action Planning
• Media Training session
• Legislative Training session

Participants will have the opportunity to develop an individual action plan, work with a mentor, and learn from seasoned advocates.

This course is a Scientific Session and does not require preregistration or additional charges.
