The AAN and ReachMD have launched a new radio program geared toward helping health care professionals better understand neurology. The show, NeuroFrontiers, heard daily on XM Satellite Radio Channel 160, begins airing in May and features a 15-minute topic every week through June. Additionally, all shows are available as a live stream or a downloadable podcast. Downloadable podcasts are also available. NeuroFrontiers is hosted by AAN member Anthony G. Alessi, MD, FAAN.

"We're delighted to be collaborating with ReachMD to reach a wide audience of health care professionals, including neurologists, neuroscientists, and support staff," said Alessi. "The AAN is dedicated to bringing top-notch news and updates for not only our members, but also for the medical professional community at large. NeuroFrontiers will reflect the high quality and value that our members have come to expect from the Academy—all while remaining accessible and convenient."

"This collaboration with AAN allows us to bring leaders in the area of neurology to the national airwaves and deliver exceptional programming," says Gary Epstein, CEO of ReachMD. "Working together will only help us continue to reach our mission of providing current health care content to busy medical professionals through innovative media."

AAN members will be interviewed on a variety of neurology topics. The radio shows will feature notable news, editorial and clinical discussion, and other hot topics and issues pertaining to neurology and the Academy, including AAN practice parameters and position statements wherever applicable. "I'm looking forward to hosting NeuroFrontiers and helping to give my colleagues and all healthcare professionals a handle on these important topics," said Alessi.
