The AAN Professional Association Board of Directors has approved the following federal legislative priorities for 2009, which were developed based on the recommendations of the Academy's Legislative Affairs Committee (LAC).
Though still early in the 111th Congress, this is expected to be an active year for the Academy's priority issues. The Academy's Washington, DC, office staff has already met with several Congressional offices and other important stakeholders. In March, participants in Neurology on the Hill will also meet with their Congressional representatives to advocate for neurology. When priority issues move, the Academy will alert members with Action Alert emails, which all users to send a message to Congress with just three clicks. Keep up with the current status on these issues. For questions or comments, please contact Mike Amery, Legislative Counsel, at mamery@aan.com or at (202) 349-4299.
