The Academy has developed eight performance measures for epilepsy, and now your expert opinion on the measures is needed. The 30-day open public comment period runs from February 11 to 6:00 p.m. ET on March 12, 2009.

• Seizure Type and Frequency
• Etiology or Epilepsy Type
• EEG
• MRI/CT
• AED Side Effects
• Refractory Epilepsy Referral
• Safety and Driving
• Women of Childbearing Potential

Neurologists and other practitioners need become familiar with these measures as they begin to be implemented in quality improvement programs  and/or pay-for-reporting programs such as the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI).
