Call for Nominations for 2009–2011 AAN and AANPA Boards of Directors and Officers

The Nominations Committee is accepting nominations for the 2009–2011 Board of Directors and officers of the American Academy of Neurology Professional Association. The open positions are (1) President Elect, (2) Vice President, and (3) two directors.

The Nominations Committee will also consider the leadership requirements of related organizations:

  • According to the Bylaws of the American Academy of Neurology, officers, and directors of the American Academy of Neurology Professional Association are ex officio officers and directors of the American Academy of Neurology.
  • According to the Bylaws of the American Academy of Neurology Foundation, the President, President Elect, and Past President are ex officio members of the Foundation's Board of Trustees.
  • According to the Bylaws of AAN Enterprises, Inc., the wholly-owned for-profit subsidiary of the Academy, the President Elect is an ex officio member of that organization's Board of Directors.

The Nominations Committee strives for balance and diversity, including geography, gender, subspecialty, professional setting, time in the profession, and ethnic origin. An officer or director can expect to commit up to 15 days per year to the activities of the organizations described above.

Any Fellow of the Academy and Association may apply to the Nominations Committee and any member may recommend a Fellow for consideration. Applications or recommendations should include a curriculum vitae and a brief statement addressing the skills, abilities, and character of the applicant or recommended Fellow. Applications and recommendations will be accepted until September 30, 2008.
