Dear Editor,

AAN members are well aware of the continuing importance of animal research to the care of neurologic patients. The AAN Animals in Research Task Force has a responsibility to implement the AAN policy of animals in research and seeks to highlight current studies at the forefront of this work. The following articles focus on difficulties and risks involved in carrying on our necessary research, and should be brought to the attention of the membership.
