Dear fellow neurologists and AAN members,
As 2008 opens, we are looking to continued progress in enhancing the Education Section of AAN.com during the coming year. Developments have occurred in several areas and users of AAN.com should look forward to significant changes in the next few months.
I am pleased that my efforts in editing the Education Section will be supported by a talented Editorial Board selected from the Education Committee. Members are Barney Stern, MD, FAAN, Linda Selwa, MD, FAAN, Steven Lewis, MD, FAAN , Sung Lee MD, and Joseph Safdieh, MD.
The Distance Learning Subcommittee has brought two important online learning opportunities to AAN.com. The Test Your Knowledge feature is a regularly updated feature at AAN.com and allows members to quickly gain new information in a fun and challenging format. The Self-Assessment Examination (NeuroSAE) is now available on AAN.com. This self-assessment examination of 100 on-line questions is aimed at helping neurologists assess their level of knowledge as they take steps toward fulfilling their Maintenance of Certification requirements for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
More than 170 Education Courses will be offered at the 2008 Meeting in Chicago. An easy-to-use search engine can search the database of courses by topic, keyword, day of week, or course director. This search engine can be found at www.aan.com/annualmeeting/search.
Here are some of the things we are working on:
The Education Editorial Board and I are committed to making the Education Section of AAN.com even more valuable to our members, including students, residents, fellows, and neurologists. Please send your comments, suggestions, and ideas to me at educationeditor@aan.com
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
