The Treatment of Parkinson Disease with Motor Fluctuations and Dyskinesia guideline audio slide presentation is now available. Lead author, Rajesh Pahwa, MD, provided the first audio commentary for an AAN guideline. A pilot project of the Practice Improvement Subcommittee, the slide presentation was created as an enhanced tool for use at various levels, including use for personal clinician information, peer meetings, office staff education and training, community talks and meetings, and grand rounds.
The Treatment of Parkinson Disease with Motor Fluctuations and Dyskinesia with audio presentation can be viewed online or downloaded from the "Movement Disorders" guideline topic listing. Once the slideshow is launched, viewers can move the slides forward by using the double-down arrows at the bottom of the scroll bar (to the right of the slide). The original slide presentation without audio is also available.
The Subcommittee members are interested in your thoughts and comments and would appreciate receiving feedback on the audio slide presentation. The Academy would like input on how physicians plan to use the presentation. Your input will help the Subcommittee members evaluate the need for and usefulness of the enhanced tool and to determine if there will be more enhanced slide presentations created for other existing as well as new guidelines.
