Webinar Provides the Facts on Transition to ICD-10

Even though ICD–10 has been used by many countries in the World Health Organization since 1994, it has not yet been adopted in the United States. That is expected to change on October 1, 2014, as compliance will become mandatory for US providers, payers, and vendors.
To help neurologists begin to understand and prepare for the arrival of ICD–10, the AAN urges doctors and practice managers to attend “ICD–10: Are You Prepared?,” an AAN Practice Management Webinar offered online on Tuesday, October 16, at 12:00 p.m. ET. Registration is available online and the deadline to register is Monday, October 15.
Presenter Jeffrey R. Buchhalter, MD, FAAN, a member of the AAN Coding Subcommittee, will help participants:
- Understand the differences between ICD–9–CM andICD–10–CM
- Be aware of the mechanics of the ICD–10–CM system and its updates
- Evaluate your preparation for ICD–10–CM implementation and if you are on track
- Create a training plan for the October 1, 2014, implementation date
This is the ninth of 10 practice management webinars scheduled for 2012.
