Neurologists are encouraged to contact the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)' QualityNet Help Desk immediately if you believe you are receiving the Medicare Electronic Prescribing (eRx) penalty in error or have not received a formal notice from CMS regarding an exemption request final status.
If you have contacted the QualityNet Help Desk in the past few weeks but have been turned away, please re-contact them if you still believe you are receiving the eRx payment adjustment in error.
Although CMS is willing to hear your individual case regarding payment adjustments or hardship request, there is no guarantee that their original decision will be reversed.
There is not a formal review appeal or review process for the eRx payment adjustment, but any neurologist with questions or concerns about the penalty or a hardship exemption request is encouraged to contact the QualityNet Help Desk and the inquiry will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
